The pattern is written in US crochet terms!

We will crochet in continuous rounds. It means that you don’t need to join your rounds in the end. Just work over the first stitch of the previous round.

Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round.

Dark green color 20 gr,

Light brown color 20 gr,

white color 10gr,

a small amount of Beige for the nose/hands, and a small amount of yellow for the star

Crochet hook size 2.5mm

Poly fiber fill for stuffing and a tapestry needle

Stitch Abbreviation:

SC- single crochet

SS- slip stitch

CH- chain

Rep- repeat

Inc- increase (make 2 SC in the same stitch)

Dec- decrease ( work 2 SC stitch together)

MR- magic ring

– repeat the stitches in the ** indicated times

FO- fasten off

BLO- back loop only

FLO- front loop only

Every layer is worked in the same way. We have 4 layers. The only difference is the petal count in each layer.

How to add beads (optional):

  1. Take your beads and put them on the string using a tapestry needle.
  2. Pull the yarn a bit and start your layers.

First layer from the top (working in the front loop of rnd 19)

Insert your hook in the back loop of the first stitch and pull up a loop, CH 1, SC in the base of the initial chain, *(HDC 1, DC 1, CH 1, place one bead after the chain and CH 1 again, DC 1, HDC 1 all in next stitch), SC in next 2* repeat 6 times, SC in next 3 stitches. (6 petals)

The third layer (working in the front loop of rnd 31)

Repeat the same steps we did in the previous layers. Here you will have 11 petals and 2 stitches will be left in the end. Make SC into the last two stitches.

The fourth layer (working in the front loop of rnd 37)

Repeat the steps in previous layers. You will have 14 petals and 1 stitch left in the end. Make SC into the last stitch.

How to join your gnome- assembly:

  1. Sew the beard onto the body right below the brim.
  2. Sew the nose on top of the beard. Place it in the center.
  3. Sew the hands.
  4. Attach the star on top of your hat.
  5. Use safety pins to secure them before sewing. Sew them when you like the placement.
